
The Undergraduate Library will serve as a station all day on Wednesday, September 19 from 10 am – 5 pm in the UGL Atrium. (Each person to complete training during the challenge period is worth 1 point). The Challenge will take place at several locations across campus. Participants must complete an online survey after their training in order for WSU to earn points.

During the Challenge, those who were trained during the pre-challenge will train participants on how to perform the Hands-Only CPR method.
The official Challenge Period begins on September 15 and lasts through September 21.

Thursday, August 30 – Student Center Hilberry D 1 pm – 5 pm. Thursday, August 23 – Student Center Hilberry D 11:30 am – 2 pm. Tuesday, August 21 – Student Center Ballroom 12pm – 1pm. The sessions are open to all university students, faculty, staff, family and friends interested in participating. Students may also enter to win raffle prizes during challenge week! Participants are welcome to drop in, be trained in hands-only CPR, then fill out an online survey at to earn points. The workshops are walk-in style and last about 30 minutes. Everyone who attends these workshops will be trained on how to perform hands-only CPR so that they can teach others during the challenge period. These workshops are for people who want to volunteer as trainers during the official challenge period (September 15- 21). The Pre-Challenge Workshops start on August 21 and run through September 14. All University students, staff, faculty, friends and family are invited to take part in this challenge. From September 15 – September 21, the challenge will take place across universities in Michigan to increase the number of people who are able to perform hands-only CPR in emergency situations. With this campaign, we hope to train several hundred thousand people in Hands-Only CPR and also encourage people to learn conventional CPR. Over the next three years, the unit will be traveling across the county to build awareness and train people in lifesaving CPR skills. From here, the Hands-Only CPR mobile training unit will travel to host trainings in eight cities this summer. In addition, today’s event is our first stop on the mobile Hands-Only CPR tour! Our state-of-the-art mobile CPR training unit and certified trainers will be present to teach New Yorkers the simple steps to save a life.
